Terms of Service
Last updated: September 23, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and CleanOcans LLC(“we,” “us”). By signing up for service, you agree to them.
The service
We clean, sanitize, and deodorize residential trash, recycling, and yard waste cans at the service address you give us. Cleaning happens curbside, and you do not need to be present.
Your responsibilities
- Leave your cans accessible at the curb on your scheduled service day, emptied by your waste hauler.
- Give us accurate access instructions, including any gate codes.
- Tell us if your address, can count, or contact details change.
If your cans aren't out, a gate is locked, or the cans are still full when we arrive, we'll pick them up on your next scheduled cleaning instead. We don't charge for a missed visit— we'd rather sort it out by phone than bill you for a drive.
Plans, billing, and automatic renewal
- Monthly — billed every 4 weeks in advance, and renews automatically until you cancel.
- Quarterly — billed every 12 weeks in advance, and renews automatically until you cancel.
- One-Time Cleaning — a single charge for a single cleaning. Nothing recurring.
Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. Additional cans beyond those included in your plan are billed at the per-can rate shown at signup, on the same cycle as the plan. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes take effect on your next renewal.
Founding customers. The first 50 households to start a recurring plan keep the per-visit price they signed up at for as long as that subscription stays active. The price changes above do not apply to them. If a founding customer cancels and later signs up again, the price at that time applies.
First-clean offers. An introductory offer, such as a discounted first clean from one of our door hangers, applies to your first cleaning only, on recurring plans only. Every cleaning after that is billed at your plan's regular price, which is shown alongside the offer before you pay.
About the billing cycle. Recurring plans bill every 4 or 12 weeks, not on a calendar month or quarter. Because 4 weeks is slightly shorter than a month, a 4-week plan bills 13 times in a year, not 12. Your renewal date moves forward by the same number of weeks each time. You'll always see the cadence on the plan you choose and again on the review screen before you pay, and Stripe emails you a receipt for every charge.
Skipping and canceling
You may skip a scheduled cleaning at no charge by contacting us before your service date; we'll credit that cleaning to your account. You may cancel a recurring plan at any time by emailing cleanocans@gmail.com or calling (480) 331-6661. Cancellation stops future renewals. There is no cancellation fee and no notice period.
When you cancel, you keep the cleaning you've already paid for. Your plan simply doesn't renew — we finish the cycle you're in and then stop. We don't prorate or refund a cycle that's already been served, and we don't bill you again after you cancel.
Weather and rescheduling
Severe weather, equipment failure, or changes to your hauler's pickup schedule may delay service. We'll reschedule to the next available day in your area and let you know. You are not charged for a cleaning we did not perform.
Condition of your cans
Cleaning removes residue and odor, but it cannot repair cracks, deep staining, warping, or damage that existed before we arrived. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or for wear consistent with normal use of an aging can.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
Our guarantee
If your cans aren't clean when we leave, tell us within 48 hours and we'll come back and re-clean them at no charge. If you're still not happy after that, we'll refund that cleaning in full.
This is the same guarantee published on our homepage, and it forms part of these terms.
Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. By paying, you also agree to Stripe's terms. We do not store your card number.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and notify active customers by email.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Maricopa County, Arizona.
